As others have said, Big Y of Avon has great produce, and a great deli, bakery, sandwich shop, and pizza shop. We do all of our grocery shopping here despite having a Stop & Shop and a Shop Rite a couple miles closer to us. Every time I shop elsewhere, I find myself wishing I’d just gone to Big Y!
Excellent supermarket. Butcher shop, seafood counter and well-stocked deli. Pizza shop (pizza's are very good). Always has great array of fresh vegetables and fruits, with an emphasis on locally grown. Staff is always pleasant and helpful.
Extremely clean and organized grocery store with fantastic customer service. Maybe slightly pricier than other local options, but the tradeoff is worth it if you need the extra service. Their produce section is among the best I've ever seen, their Deli, Hot food selection, and Bakery are all absolutely STELLAR. A few small caveats- there is no self check out, and the Gold Coin system is a huge pain since you have to actually carry around physical coins. That is the only real knock against this store. If they managed those coins digitally so I didn't have to carry them around this would be a slam dunk 5 star review.
Love shopping at the Big Y. Family owned, friendly helpful staff and competent check out chashiers. Great produce and meat selections. Natural foods section, bakery and sushi stand made fresh daily. Prices better than stop and shop. Even better sale prices with silver rewards card.
