DO NOT use the VACCINATIONS SERVICE there. The vet's name is Ali. He is very slow and unorganized. We were there three times for different shots. Every time we arrive fifteen minutes after the service starts and have to wait in the line for more than an hour. This week the service is from 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. We were there 3:30. We asked the lady for form to fill out info. as soon as we got in the store and she told us they ran out of clipboard. She asked us to stay in the line and would give us one when it's available. We did wait in the line for an hour and ten minutes. Another lady came to us at 4:40 and told us that they had to close soon and couldn't take us. They could told us earlier so we didn't have to wait in the line for more than an hour. I complaint to the store manager and he couldn't do anything. I will NEVER EVER use this service in PETCO again. And that vet Ali gave me his business card last time. He has his own office. Good luck on his business.

If you need something quick for your pet, and you don't want to wait for your online shipment, Petco is a good option. The prices are certainly more expensive than you'll find online.
I recently bought a leash there. I have shopped there for years and never returned anything.It was a $49.99 retractable leash. This morning I went to take my dog out and there was a rip in the fabric , straight across as if from a mechanism inside.I called Petco and spoke to the manager Brian who told me I needed a receipt. I told him I didn't want the money I wanted to exchange the leash thinking that maybe it was defective and that I was unable to find the receipt. Could they look under my Petco reward to find a receipt, I asked ? No, they need a receipt. Lesson learned, I will never shop at Petco again and I will have receipts emailed to me.
Generic service & hard to find the staff when you're looking for a certain item. Prices are on the higher side & products can be found much cheaper if you compare. The certain sections are not always stocked & routinely disorganized.
We go to the local mom and pop place to buy our dog food because that guy is really knowledgeable. He helped get our dog's nutrition on track. But it's fun to roam around the store for a bit and buy the occasional toy or dog treat.
My kids like to go to see the live animals that they have. It's like a free mini zoo. They have fish, reptiles, birds, rodents, and ferrets. Sometimes other folks bring their dogs in, too.
You can take your pet into the store. I take my dog there frequently to help socialize him.
